To save images in photoshop we can use 3 different formats.
We can save the image as a JPEG. JPEG images are good because you can use them on all computers and you don't need a certain program to open the picture. However, it compresses the file so it compresses the layers of the photo which makes the image smaller and lesser quality. By using a JPEG format it makes the file size smaller but means the image quality may suffer.
Photoshop images are good because it keeps the high quality of the image without compressing the image. However, you can only open the image saved as a photoshop image if you have photoshop on the computer and the program is the same. This means that if you don't have photoshop at home you will not be able to open or use the file.
Tiff format is the best format because it does not compress or lessen the quality of the photograph and you can also use it on any computer even if the computer does not have photoshop. This is the best way to save an image because even if you don't have photoshop at home you will be able to use and open the file at home. In future use of photoshop we have been told to save the images in the TIFF format. However, even though TIFF formats keep the image quality high, the file size is still also large so fewer images will take up more space in a TIFF Format than loads of images would in a JPEG format.
